Mr. Connecticut Leather, Inc welcomed Chris Grasso as Mr. Connecticut Leather 2008 on Saturday evening,

November 17that 168 York Street Café in New Haven, CT. Hector Cruz was the runner up. Chris and Hector competed

in front of leather men and women from Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts and New Jersey.

The Judges for Mr. CT Leather 2008 were: Aaron - Mr. Boston Leather 2007, Rick Weber- Mr. NYC Eagle 2007,

Doc Hoskins, Jr. – Leatherman of Color 2007, Chuck Nankivell - Mr. NJ Leather 2007, Stan Siniarsk, “Jiggiebear”,

David Oravez - Mr. NYC Eagle 2002 & Jayson Scott - Mr. CT Leather 2007

Den Daddy was David Murphy – Mr. CT Leather 2006.

MC for the evening was Jim “Tug” Taylor - Mr. CT Leather 2004/Mr. Mid Atlantic Leather 2004.

Chris Grasso will advance and compete at the Mid-Atlantic Leather contest in January 2008.

Jayson Scott - Mr. CT Leather 2007


Mr. Connecticut Leather, Inc. welcomed Mr. Jayson Scott as Mr. Connecticut Leather 2007 on the evening of November 4, 2006 at Gotham Citi Cafe' in New Haven. Mr. Rick Daley was the runner up. Judges for the contest were Jim Maciel, Mr. Boston Leather 2005 and FLAG President; Alex Bettencourt, International Ms. Bootblack 2006; ray rivera, Northeast Leatherboy 2006; Scott Erikson, Mr. Boston Leather 2004 and Bay State Marauders VP; Boy Robi, Ms. New Jersey Leather 2007 and Mr. Mid-Atlantic Bootblack 2005; Tom Savage, Mr. New Jersey Leather 2006; and the departing titleholder David Murphy, Mr. Connecticut Leather 2006. Thomas “Keckler” Lewis, Mr. Boston Leather 2006, served as den daddy. David Oravez, Mr. New York Eagle 2002, was emcee for the evening. Papa Craig, VP of Enforcers New England; and Chris Grasso, Mr. Connecticut Leather 2006 runner-up, conducted tallying for the contest. A portion of the proceeds from the evening has been earmarked for this year’s beneficiary, LifeChoice Donor Services, Inc Jayson competed at Mid Atlantic Leather in January of 2007 and International Mr. Leather 2007 in May of 2007.

On Saturday November 12, 2005 the Mr. Connecticut Leather Contest was held at Club 251, New London, CT. Three contestants competed. Chris Grasso, David Murphy, and Edwin Barrios. Judges for the event were, Steve Ranger, MAL 2005, Amanda PUP Farrell, American Leatherwoman 2005, Jim Maciel, Mr Boston Leather 2005, Dawn Marie, Ms. Philadelphia Leather 2005, Robert Valin, NYC Mr. Eagle 2005, David Baldwin, MAL 2002, and George Peet, Mr. Connecticut Leather 2005. Storm, American Leatherwoman 2004 and TUG Taylor, MAL 2004 served as emcee's. Tallying the scores were Tom Mead Mr. NJ Leather 2005 and Brian Kuerze. Den Daddy was David Oravez, NYC Mr. Eagle 2002. David Murphy was crowned Mr. Connecticut Leather 2006, with Chris Grasso 1st runner up. David competed for the title of Mr. Mid-Atlantic Leather, January 2006 in Washington D.C.

Ron Norberg - Mr. CT Leather 1998 Mr. CT Leather 1998 contest was sponsored by the Twilight Guard was held in October 1997 at the Brook Cafe in Westport, CT In November, Ron traveled to Baltimore for the COMMAND Run as his first event as Mr. CT Leather. During Ron's title year, he also attended the following events Mid-Atlantic Leather Burlington VT "Winter's a Drag" Philadelphia for a Philadelphian's run Long Island the LI MC's club run that year IML where I competed, Contestant - (That was the year Tony Mills Won) Maine - Mr. Maine Leather April 1999 (Served as Judge) Ron relocated to Washington, DC in the spring of 1999 where he presently resides.

Pictured is Mike Garety, Mrs. Allison L. the title holder from the Pansexual Alliance in CT and Mike's pup-slave at the time Pup Gary. The sash was made by David Menkes, a longtime supporter of the Mr CT Leather Contest. The sash now resides in the Leather Archives & Museum. Besides from winning the Mr CT Leather Contest, Mike also won the Provincetown Mates Mr Provincetown Leather Contest the week before. The runner up for the Provincetown contest was Ron Norberg, who later succeeded at the Mr CT Leather Contest. In addition to the leather contest, Mike is a charter member of both Falcon Corps (now defunct) and Twilight Guard where he is also a past Vice President. There are many other accomplishments in the areas of leather, HIV/AIDS groups, gay youth support, gay rights and Pansexual Alliance.
